Trucks are all the rage right now and have been for a couple of years! I couldn’t pass them up myself. I love old trucks, who doesn’t. Who doesn’t want an old blue one in real life to be a Carrot Patch Truck. I used a Dollar Tree truck to make a carrot patch truck for Easter. We have just the right spot on our mantel for such an awesome truck. You can use a truck from anywhere.
Get Started on Your Carrot Patch Truck
First sand off the glitter from the truck and then paint it white with Waverly Chalk paint or any white paint. After it is dry then use whatever color of blue paint you want (I mixed my own) and paint all the areas except the tires, window and bumpers. Then use a gray paint and lightly paint on the lines for the door, handle and tire wells. Use the same gray for the wording on the door and to fill in the bumper areas so it is cohesive. You need to paint the tires black, but leave the centers white. Use watered down paint to create the look of a weathered old truck by adding distress on it. After the truck is all dry, hot glue some carrots in the back of the truck. (I got mine from the Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby). Did you use a Dollar Tree truck to make a Carrot Patch Truck?
And now you have an old blue truck that is ready to make deliveries from Dusty’s Carrot Patch so you can put it on your mantle or wherever!! Enjoy your creation and display it prominently for all to admire!
I personally will still be dreaming of getting a real life old blue truck…what is life without a few dreams???
