I think Blue Heelers are the best dog in the world. They are also known as Australian Cattle Dogs. We have several here on the ranch. They are loyal to their owners and they are tenacious when they set their mind to something. Blue Heelers are easy to train and work with and will be more like a friend than an animal. They can also be very hyper; thankfully the ones we have are all laid back and willing to please! We definitely have blue heeler puppy love.
New Born Puppies Cause Blue Heeler Puppy Love
Blue Heelers are born white as puppies with the only markings they have are the black or red spots on their bodies, their ears and their mask. By the time they are about about 2 to 3 weeks old you can see the other color coming through in the areas that are covered in white hair.
As puppies they are the sweetest babies and have a soft thick coat. They are very curious little things and there comes a time that they will start nipping at your heels (that’s where they get their name). They are just so precious that you just want to pick them up and cuddle them. I love the smell of puppy breath and the three little ones we have right now have just the best puppy breath. Course I think that about all puppies!
Blue Heelers Are Curious
As you can see from the above photos they have to know what is going on! These boards were nailed before these little munchkins came to live on the front porch waiting on their forever families to come and get them. Literally every time anyone leaves the house they will stick their bodies through the panels so they can watch!!!In most litters you either have red Heelers or blue Heelers (actually black with gray looking coat), but our litter turned out with 3 red Heelers and one blue Heeler. The fourth puppy is a little red female and is already with her forever family.
Blue Heeler Temperament
The color of their coat does not change their temperament at all. Some people prefer one color or the other. I prefer the blue color although my pick out of this litter (if I was keeping one – I’m not) was the little red guy without a mask. I call him Pete and he just has my heart!! The little blue colored one we call Tuesday and the little red one with the mask we call Stripe (because he has a stripe on his head…lol)
If you ever get a hankering for a puppy then find you a blue or red Heeler and you will get a built in good friend and loyal companion! Then you can have Blue Heeler Puppy Love!!

Do you have puppies left? If so, how much?
